Dr. Jeff Ridal is the Executive Director and Chief Research Scientist at the River Institute. His expertise in Ecotoxicology is focused on the study of contaminants such as polychlorinated biphenols and organochlorine pesticides, how they are transported in the environment and the effects on the ecosystem.

 

His upbringing on the St. Lawrence River spawned his interest in large water ecosystems which brought about an educational focus in that field. Outside his management responsibilities, his research at the River Institute focuses on water quality issues and analyses specific to toxic substances, taste and odour compounds, and pathogens.
