Monday March 10th, 2008 -
Animal Mania
Learn about cool animal adaptations and how
different animals move around. With snowshoes, you will discover
and learn how to identify animal tracks in the snow.*
Tuesday, March 11, 2008 -
Hocus Pocus Science
Have you always wanted to be a magician? Come and
learn new magic tricks as well as the real science behind them
Wednesday, March 12th, 2008 -
Migration Mysteries
You will explore the reasons why animals migrate
to warmer climates or hibernate. Come see if you have what it
takes to hibernate for the winter, by making your own beaver
lodge. You will also get the chance to build a camp fire to keep
warm.*
Thursday, March 13th, 2008 -
Scientist for a day
As a biologist/chemist/physicist, you will get to
work alongside other real scientists when using microscopes to
dissect fish and to test the quality of the snow from outside.
Friday, March 14th, 2008 -
Freeze it!
How do plants and animals survive our harsh
winters? Come learn how wildlife adapts to the cold weather and
many reasons why snow can help them survive. Please bring
your own sled on this day.*
* Please note
that some outdoor activities can be subject to change due to
adverse weather conditions.
**The language of Cooper Marsh Winter Fun Week is primarily
English; however, there will be bilingual counsellors present
who will encourage activities in both languages during each of
the five days.**
The camp
will be held ONLY at Cooper Marsh in South Lancaster.
The camp runs from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
Drop-off/pickup times are 8:00-9:00am and 4:00-5:00pm.
Space is limited and enrolment is on a first-come, first-served
basis; so register today!
