The River Institute presents several avenues for post-secondary
students to gain valuable field experience by pursuing their studies
with us. River Institute scientists teach a number of Environmental
Technician Diploma courses and laboratory/field sessions in conjunction with St.
Lawrence College (Cornwall Campus). They also provide university students
with an opportunity to study environmental challenges through a Methods
in Ecotoxicology field course, offered in partnership with Queen’s
University and the University of Ottawa. Research scientists at the River
Institute supervise graduate students as well. To complement coursework,
the River Institute encourages students to network with scientists from
nearby universities and around the world while they learn about their
cutting-edge research at our Annual International Conference
on the St. Lawrence River Ecosystem
