Scientists at the River Institute provide teaching and training in a variety of formats, including colleges, CÉGEPs and universities. The River Institute also gives additional training to technicians from other laboratories through work exchange programmes and on a fee-for-service basis.

The River Institute delivers hands-on, minds-on educational programmes to elementary and secondary school classes through contracts with school boards and on a programme-by-programme basis.
